The facts we publish everywhere, in one place
Most people who bet lose money. Bookmaker prices carry a margin, and over time that margin wins. This is not pessimism; it is arithmetic.
Our own model does not beat the bookmakers. We tested it across three full seasons before saying a word in public. It shows a small, repeatable skill against the closing price — and a negative return on money in every season tested. That is why we have staked £0, and why every number on this site is a paper record. The workings are on the record, losses included.
Nothing on this site is advice. Model probabilities, disagreements with the market, paper picks, streaks — all of it is a public test of a model, published before results so it cannot be quietly rewritten. None of it is a reason to place a bet.
If you bet anyway
Decide what you can afford to lose before you start, treat that number as spent, and never chase it. Do not bet to fix a loss, to feel better, or with money that has a job to do. If betting has stopped feeling like entertainment, that is the signal to stop — and if stopping is hard, that is the signal to get help.
